National Board of Professional Teaching Standards
Establishment
The U.S National Board for Professional Teaching Standards came about as a result of a report in 1983 discussing a ‘rising tide of mediocrity’ in regards to the American school system. The standards of teaching and professionalism needed to be strengthened. In 1987, Governor James B. Hunt was the first chair of NBPTS Board of Directors when the organization was introduced. It was established to recognize accompanied teaching created by teachers, for teachers.

Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring student learning: Accomplished teachers alter and create learning style to keep the interest of students. To get an effective result teachers know when to switch the instructional techniques of their class as they understand to motivate and maintain an interest of learning.

They are also role model as they display honesty, respect and fairness which can inspire students to do the same.
-
