Role of TeachersFirst
For my content area, Physical Education, I became a member of the professional association Teachers First. TeachersFirst is a free service association from the non-profit association, The Source of Learning. This community has thousands of units and web resources for any grade level. The Association is helpful in finding information for a particular subject or curriculum. It can range from the grade level to professional topics.
Content area standards and expectations
In hopes of looking for information about Physical Education, the search box allows members to read articles from other organizations for ideas. For teaching inspiration or simply to explore other resources there is also a grade search.

Members are able to:

Access trusted teaching resource in an advertising-free, safe environment

Find the best teaching ideas and resources on the web, including Teachers First Exclusives and organized from easy access.

Create a set of ‘send home’ email messages to help parents help students.

Mark and retrieve a collection of Favorite resources just for your own use, such as professional sites or resources for upcoming units

Add announcements and arrange your TeachersFirst public page

Add Favorites even from your mobile device so they will be ready for your class the next day
Affiliated Conferences
There aren’t any affiliated conferences for TeachersFirst but there are many Districts within the United States associated with the organization. There is an Advisory Board called TeachersFirst Advisory Board that provides feedback and feedback to the members especially those who wish to use technology to support teaching and learning. There are technology leaders at local, regional and national levels. Some of them reside in Tennessee, North Carolina, California, Washington and New York.
Professional Development opportunities
Professional Development opportunities for teachers or perspective teachers are workshop classes. If an ed tech coach, technology integration specialist, or other professional development professional wants to host a workshop, they are capable of requesting material for the workshop as well
